Default how do you get back on track at work if you have become apathetic?

you know how you have been there so long you start to lose heart because you dont see career progress or that management is sees your worth and trains you for more?
how do i train myself to be better and not so apathetic? i work front desk hotel and want to be behind a computer and headset not face to face so much.

You march your behind into your supervisor's office and TELL them what you want.

They aren't psychic. They don't have a crystal ball.

They can't read your mind.

Perhaps they think that you're so good where you are, you're not interested in switching.

Keep an open mind when you talk to them. Tell them what you want, then ASK what you can do to get there. Ask what you can do to move forward in the company.

If they don't take you seriously, if they don't take your wants and wishes into account, consider a job change.

If changing jobs isn't an option, get yourself something to look forward to. Like a spa day, or call in sick and give yourself a long weekend. Buy shoes. LOL!
By giving yourself something to look forward to, you don't get sucked into the "same old, same old".

Change it up at work. Bring in a new poster, or new pictures of your family and friends. Try new recipes and bring fantastic food in for lunch. Drive a different route. Buy a new outfit. "Newness" is exciting.

Ask for a change of role. If it is not forthcoming then look for another job.
