Definitely you will receive more satisfaction based on how you see your work. If you approach your work and your work environment positively and give 110% every day, you will receive personal satisfaction by feeling good about your accomplishments. Generally your income will increase as a direct result, as your positive influence will be recognized.
My only recommendation is to know when work stops - try to make sure work stays at work; don't bring work home with you (stay later instead), minimize discussing work after hours, and limit the amount of social interaction with co-workers. If you keep your personal life and your work life separate, your whole world is not destroyed if you happen to change jobs.
