I want to quit with good Cause over Pay ?
I had a sales job for 2 years I made over 90K the first year. Now the company is laying off many and I think my job is next. my base pay has been reduced 10% and they are laying me off for 1 week every month plus my commission is off 50% I cant feed my family with 38K per year. Can I quit with good cause? as my pay is off 50% .

The unemployment agencies will say " that is your problem."
38K is still more than the maximum unemployment benefit in most states.
If you quit, you disqualify yourself for unemployment benefits.

Think of this. If you were out of a job for any length of time, 38K would look pretty good, wouldn't it??? If you feel your layoff is imminent, what harm is there to sticking around for a few more weeks. You, at least, would qualify for unemployment.

In most (if not all) states, if the employee willingly quits, he/she is not eligible for UI (unemployment) benefits; you may want to look for other employment, and hope that you are layed off instead of quitting

I'm sorry about your pay cut. You do have a job, so based on what you said and your discontent, start looking for something else, but please don't let your current job go unless you have a definite job to go to. I'm with the other posters who state you will not get any unemployment benefits if you quit your job.

It depends on your state laws. For example, here is some information from New Hampshire law on quitting for good cause:
http://www.dhhs.state.nh.us/FAM_htm/315_03good_cause_for_voluntary_quit_fam.htm

You need to research your own state's laws and possibly contact an attorney who specializes in labor law.
