I work for a supermarket chain as a Co-Manager and make about $56,000 a year and I expect that I can become a Store Manager in a few years and they make (from what I've seen) about $85,000/year. I'm thinking of pursuing an opportunity to work as a store manager for Family Dollar but I don't want to forgo a decent salary.

Interesting. I just talked with a Family dollar store manager yesterday! No kidding. He said that he was hired away from a big store and they matched his salary.

He hated his boss, so he was so glad to get it. He likes the hours and the benefits. He didn't say WHAT he was making, but he was thrilled to be working there.
