Default Is it ok for the boss to shout and swear at you, especially in the ear shot

of others? my boss shouted and swore at my colleague, it was really bad, he made himself big with his arms and hands and it was awful, the whole workplace was upset, no one can raise a grievance as the evil guy is actually the MD, what to do? everyone is demotivated, in shock and the company is not very productive at all . . . .

this behavior is never okay. she can take him to court for various reasons...emotional trauma being one of them...maybe that will stop him from acting out.

Your boss can be sued for harassment and he knows this. Perhaps that is really why he apologized. No one would ever use profanity towards me in the work place. But if he is creating a hostile working environment and it is causing stress outside of work, it is time to look for a new opportunity elsewhere. But don't quit until you have another job.
