Yes. Every business or non profit has interests in laws that affect business and other matters of policy... What kind of interest group are you referring to? Do you mean a special interest group, a group that focuses on a particular set of issues and the laws that affect them? In my opinion Goodwill definitely has an interest in various policies and an agenda. If Goodwill has a significant lobby, I am not aware of it. if you are looking for a group that deals with lobbying, legal battles, and policy issues that interest them, there are quite a few. Most major professions and industries have at least one. There are unions that act as political interest groups about issues and laws that affect their jobs and markets. It would be interesting to look into medical lobbies and interest groups considering the health care legislation that is being considered. The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and ACLJ ( American Center for Law and Justice) are often on opposite sides of issues like abortion and free speech. The ACLJ can be viewed as controversial, however I respect their work in protecting Constitutional rights to free speech and freedom of religion. I hope you find this helpful. |
