Default can a manager discuss my pay to other employees?

i just recently found out when i was out of town one of my supervisors had a meeting with all employees and it was made known to them that i was given a pay increase for not leaving the company. i was confronted by several employees when i came back to work about this. i thought you cant discuss pay at jobs since this is my confidential information. i dont know what to do here. im scared to go the owner because i dont want to jeopardize my job yet this was so wrong what the manager did. is this illegal and what should i do? this is causing me to have problems performing my job becasue i am so upset and animosity with the employees.
