Default Having trouble getting a credit card?

I am currently disabled and it has been almost impossible for me to get a credit card. I am currently receiving social security benefits (monthly payment) so i guess i do have "income". I also have a savings and checkings account with WF but they denied my cc application. My frustration comes when i try to apply for a credit card b/c they don't have the option "disabled" from the occupation section, the same thing under employer. I have tried a secured car one time and that didn't even work out. So what can i do? My credit score is a 604. Its not great to say the very least but that's because since i became disable a couple of years ago my credit hasn't had any activity. I don't have bad accounts as far as i am concerned. The good news is i will be able to go back to work next year but what do i do in the mean time? Thanks.
