Say like I started a job, like fast food, retail etc. Work there for 3 days and then the manger said call him and leave a message to when the next day to work. So I leave him a message. He never called back.

I didn't quit

So how long can a person not actually work at a company before something happens?

I'd start looking for a new job if I were you. It doesn't sound like you are still employed there.
