Default How does my daughter become a Chef at The Ritz in London ? She wants to

undertake NVQ III there if she can? She is doing NVQ II at Brockenhurst College now and one of the Chef Lecturers was Head of Pastry at The Ritz for 8 yrs - she admires him greatly and he is her goal to be as good as him. She doesn't want to use his name as introduction preferring to try on own merit rather than hanging onto his apron strings. She will do 3 days on site and 2 at college which she is willing to do for Yr III. How can I help her achieve this ? She is already at Hilton 4 days/eve/w/e per week on top of this full time course so is used to being in kitchen for long periods as the college have own restaurant open to paying public anyway, so it is not all academic. She has just been awarded Student of the Year for Yr I which she is extremely proud of. She is a very driven and focused young woman.

She has accommodation in place via friends of mine which seemed to be her main concern. Any advice from Chef's in the Industry please?

The only way is to contact them and see if there are any vacancies. She should use the Lecturers name as they will see she is having excellent training. One way to get on in life is 'not what you know, but who you know'.
