Default How to learn more about the medical field?

Im a 23 year junior at an elite university. I've gone through so much in my college experience, both personally, academically and medically. Im at that age where im tryning to figure what is it i want to do. I suffered from my medical condition for almost half my life. I recently return to school from a medical leave. Over the leave the idea of wanting to become a doctor came to my mind. I first want to say that I NEVER wanted to become a doctor. Im not sure because its new to me and most people wanted to become doctors every since they were little. Im 23 and the idea is starting to come up. My problem is my confidence and self-esteem. I've had some tough issues academically and i sometimes feel like im not smart or good enough.I didnt come from a great high school. So, i've had to learn good study skills on the fly and sometimes at the expense of my grades. Im fascinated with the human body and medicine. I want to either be a nephrologist or transplant surgeon. I have PERSONAL experience with both fields. I also love to help people. I love fact, figures, graphs and charts. I love using information to help people. I was also considering a MPH degree. I really need some advice on how to learn more about medicine. I want to finish my B.S. first and then go back to school for my pre-med requirements.
