Right now I've been looking for a dental assisting job for about 6 months, (graduated in June) and haven't found anything. Is it common for people to drop in dental offices and offer to volunteer to gain experience and is it accepted by the dentist/office? And how long should I volunteer if they ask me to? I don't want to give up all my time for free. The whole point is to get my foot in the door and hopefully get hired on. Any thoughts? and whats the best way to ask them?
