or agent who could help me? I received a blood transfusion when I was a toddler back in the 70's. I contracted Hepatitis C from it. Thankfully, I have never had many symptoms. My goal is to outlive the disease. I am male, mid-thirties, 6'2", 190 lbs, a nonsmoker, a nondrinker, and exercise daily. I see a GP yearly and a liver specialist yearly. However, I can't get life insurance. No company wants to insure a 30-something with Hep C (no matter how healthy). Do you all have any suggestions? Any companies or agents that might be able to help me? I've met people that smoke daily and are obese and have no problem getting life insurance. Me, these companies don't want anything to do with me. Help!

You CAN get life insurance - you just can't get good ODDS - that means, if money is no object, you CAN buy some, it might cost close to payout. You'd need to contact a local (to you) high risk life insurance agent. ANYONE can buy $100,000 of life insurance, if they're willing to pay $110,000 for it. OR, you can buy a guaranteed issue policy through a company like Globe Life or Mutual of Omaha. It's limited payout, up to $10,000, and you have to pay in at least two years before dying. OR, you can get a job that offers group life insurance - usually you can get 2 - 3 times your annual earnings on this type of policy.

If you are applying for life insurance, apply for term life, try CUNA Mutual they have life insurance that doesn't require a physical examination. Try looking for life insurance polices that are not VUL, VL, UL, or Whole life policies over $100k. Your best bet is to get term life and invest in something other than the cash value of your life insurance. Term life carries no cash value, but pays a higher death benifit.
