Default Does any one on here have Tricare health insurance?

Okay so I'm 24 weeks pregnant with twins. I have Tricare standard through my husband (navy) till November 01, 2009 then i go to Tricare Prime. Well I'm classified as a high risk patient. I have only been receiving my prenatal appointments for about a month(there were a lot of problems that prevented me from going). I like this doctor and she makes me feel safe( she's civilian). I want to deliver with her but my insurance told me today i have to continue my appointments with a military facility. I hate the idea of that since a few months ago when i was hospitalized for a severe kidney infection. The doctors were rude, mean, cold to my family and i was just a case number, plus i saw like 12 different doctors and nurses during my stay. I have no idea what to do. I am debating if I should have a home birth because of this, or suffer threw a navy hospital. I cant have another doctors appointment till almost December, plus I'll have to take a prenatal class( they tell us what to expect during childbirth and pregnancy - i already have 1 child) before i can see a doctor, then there is almost a 4 week wait!!!! should i forget about the doctors appointments since they'll be pointless. Also my current doctor does an ultrasound every appointment to locate the heart beats and find position- my new doctor wont provide any ultrasounds, urine tests, etc, just the severe basics. Please help me what should i do

Well, do your research. With twins, you're pretty darned likely to end up with a c section, because most doctors aren't trained to deliver twins any more. Most midwives ARE. If you're REALLY high risk, a midwife won't take you - so your first step, is to interview a few midwives and discuss your situation with them. Many, many doctors will classify non-high risk pregnancies as high risk, for silly reasons - like a multiple birth.

That ultrasound that you have every appointment, isn't really CHANGING anything - it's of NO benefit . . . so what's the point? Well, there isn't one. THAT shouldn't be your deciding factor.

Do not have a home birth, there are risks during pregnacy to both you and the baby that cannot be forseen. Also the doctors who care for your kidney infection are radically different than the ones who oversee your birthing process and child care.

I would continue with Tricare.
