they work? I have had only 8 shares of stock with a company for 21 years. It's only about $40 right now but I would like to sell it nonetheless.

Can someone tell me how I would sell it? Also, would I be making $40 x 8 or how does this work?

You sell your stock shares through a brokerage. You will receive whatever the share price is at the time you sell, less the brokerage commission.
