Default What Bank should I go with?

I am 19 and i still dont have a bank account, it's not because i'm too lazy to get one i just dont trust banks especially in this economy. But in this day and age you need a bank account for many reasons, i need a bank account for many reasons, so therefore i have decided to open up a bank account, the problem now is which bank should i choose. I guess i'm looking for a trustful bank, one that wont steal my money or trick me and will help me to build my credit, I want to easly have access to my money and keep track of any transactions, I want my money to be safe as well as my information. I dont want a bank that will have high interest rates or silly charges for certain bank transactions or any of that good stuff. I know it all depends on a persons situation but any recommendation will do thanks, oh and what about credit unions i heard there better, if so why?
