Default Is this really fair of my job?

And all I'm talking about is excused absences. If you miss a day of work without legit documentation, then yeah, it should count as a point.
Okay, well everyone who works at my job (ICT, it's a Customer Service Rep place) knows that the people higher up like to screw with their employees as much as they can.

They lie to get people to work there (I was lied to and told we would be getting a whole bunch of incentives that we never got). Although we work 40 hours a week, they consider it part-time so we don't get benefits...they lie to people about hours they'll be working and their rate of pay to get people to join all the time.

However, it's their attendence policy I'm having a hard time believing is entirely legal. The rule is if you miss a day, you get a point. If you leave early, you get half a point. If you get 3 points, you get a verbal warning. I think at 6 points, you get your final warning. They go away after 2 months.

Now, I think that's fine. However, they do not care if you have a doctor's excuse, they still count it. For instance, I had two excused days last week for health problems, and I recieved my verbal today. My one friend misses days every now and then for court-ordered reasons, as well as missed all of last week because he had the flu and they told him he couldn't work. They counted all of those days, and now are about to fire him. The same goes with my other friend, who has a stomach illness, and has a lot of excused days.

Can anyone enlighten me on if there's anything we can do about all of this? The building is already being sued because they failed to provide someone with workman's comp when she was injured on the job.

I wish so bad i could help you!!That is so unfair i am having the same problem right now!The point system is much harder than people realize
I work at pilgrims pride and i had 9 points now i had to take a leave of absent and they act like they want to fire me.
Se we have a on duty nurse where i work and my blood pressure was high so she made me go home but i still got a point(that`s just wrong)
I Plan to talk to my lawyer and if i find out anything i`ll let you know and try to help you out, and if you can find us some help let me know

BTW the company i work for is in trouble too for safety reasons and illegal workers and also the drain is real nasty so there is a health code issue

Good luck
