Default Employer forcing employees to tan...is it legal?

I am getting harassed by the company because I don't tan enough and that I'm pasty. They require that we tan at least 2 times per week and I've only missed doing that 3 times in my 12 month history ...I am now being told if I don't tan, like they require, one more time that I am automatically fired.

I asked them how I was as an employee and they went on and on about what an exemplary worker I am. I am a Licensed skin care specialist (no one else in the company is) and I'm very good at my job but I have recently brought up some concerns with the way they are training their employees(with false or scare tactic information) to relay to customers and get them to tan. I'm pretty sure that due to my "making trouble" they are trying to find a way to get rid of me with out having to pay unemployment and my thoughts are that the tanning thing is the only way.

So, is it legal to force your employees to tan?

Default Advice

I think it is not legal. If you are good at your job then Employer does not forcing to you. Employers face potential exposure to a multitude of civil and criminal claims if they knowingly - or even unknowingly - employ immigrants who are not legally authorized to work in this country.
