| So I was injured in April of 2009 at Wal-mart in Nevada. I herniated a disc in my back, have gone through physical therapy, and they have been pressuring me to get an epidural steroid shot in my back. I'm an overnight stocker and lift up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, pulling, pushing. I'm only 19 and I'm really cautious of doing this. I'm not sure if I should just go through with it, or try to get a second opinion. I also was wondering because since I've been off work on and off for the past year almost, I guess I'm eligible for a settlement which is a partial temporary disability claim. I was wondering how much I should expect to receive from this? Any advice or thoughts will help so much! Thanks. |

| Who is pressuring you to get the epidural shot? Your coworkers and employer or your physical therapist? If it is your employers or coworkers then I would say they need to bug off. If your therapist or caregiver is pressuring you into taking a shot then it is your choice. If you don't feel comfortable with the procedure then don't do it. Why do you need the shot? Is it so you can have some semblance of relief or is just for you to get back to work and do all the stocking, pulling. bending, pushing, and reaching? I hurt myself and the doctor offered to give me in an injection and I said hell no! Merely touching the area caused pain, why would i let them stick a needle into it? As for a disabilty claim and how much you would get. No way to know until you consult with a lawyer. Walmart is very cheap and don't like doing payouts so they will stall and more than likely force you to settle out of court for a lesser amount.. |
