I am an hourly employee non-management. I have been paid hourly for 2 years. They now wish to change my group to salary is this legal?

They can change your pay to salary. But that doesn't mean they don't have to pay you overtime for hours over 40 per week. There are very specific (federal wage and hour law) rules for you to be exempt from overtime pay, and if you aren't a manager or a "highly paid professional", you are probably NOT exempt. Many people, including many employers, think that if you are salaried, you don't get paid overtime - that is NOT correct.
