'Customization' is more a process than a product. A hotel room is a product. A hotel room which has been subject to customization is one where features/benefits of the standard product have been altered to suit the particular needs of the customer purchasing the product. In the case of the hotel room this might mean adding two extra pillows to cater for the customer's back-ache, removing the nylon pillow cases to cater for the customer's Allergy to nylon, etc etc. Some companies, such as certain hotel chains carry a huge database of all their customers individually preferences so if you stay at their Paris Hotel they will automatically cater for them on all future stays across the world. An excellent example of customization might be Lands End Clothing Company. Good luck with the homework. |
