Default Commissioned Sales Thief?

I recently acquired a new position at a retail chain where I work selling Electronics and what not, it is a commission position. There is one associate who likes to interrupt other salesmen mid pitch and tries to steal the sale, and on more than one occasion has actually ruined a sale because he contradicted what another salesperson had already said in a conversation. I am a very ummm.. lets say 'short fused' guy and am having a serious issue with these practices. I am looking for any peaceful ideas to fix this situation, preferably without directly threatening the person- I am open to any ideas/wordings that MAY imply a threat as long as I can say it and still retain my job without question.... if necessary of course, non threatening ideas are preferred. And managers/supervisors are aware of the situation and are not correcting it, so I ask you yahoo answers community..... ideas?

I would just say to this employee. I will call him Tom.

Tom I have a problem and I need your help. He will of course say what is your problem. Now it is you turn to explain without getting hostile that you appreciate him trying to help you close sales but you would prefer it if you allow you to deal with the customer you are waiting on by yourself because sometimes the customers get confused with too many people trying to help them and confused people don't buy.

Then the next time he trys to butt in just say nicely Tom Thanks for offering to help but I think I can handle this without you but if I need your help I will let you know.

Hope that helps.

Just look at him square in the face as soon as he opens his mouth and say - - Thanks Bob, I will take it from here.

Keep a made up name and phone number as a message in your pocket, the next time he tries to interject himself, give him the message and tell him that they really need a call back ASAP...Make it a phone number to a department store, and give it a made up name of Bill. He will waste time looking for Bill.

The following time, interupt him and say that the boss was looking for him.

Then keep doing this.....
