I am a shy but financially motivated. I love to help people when I actually believe in something, but I'm shy at first. Is it hard to make quotas? Can a shy person actually make a good living in sales?

People keep telling me that this is a bad career choice. And that it is very hard. I've tried telemarketing but I gave up after everyone hung up on me.
