Default Is it a good idea to keep your college graduation date off your resume?

I'm turning 50 in a few days and found out I will be "out of a job" next spring-summer. (My company is relocating). Fortunately I'm a young 50 but that doesn't translate on paper. By including my college graduation date I'm afraid I immediately disqualify myself from a potential job? But leaving the dates off may seem suspect too? The recruiters are mixed on this and I'm just wondering what some other folks might think?
