I stopped paying my mortgage in februaury because my husbAnd lost his job and we have been trying to get a loan modification since and we keep sending our paperwork over and over and a month ago they offered a modification to us for payments $300 higher than what it was... They said if you pay this for 3-6 months we will maybe reconsider lowering your payment. Two days ago I got a notice of trustee sale even though we are in the midst of a modification (supposedly) and the date of sale is nov 30th my question is ...now the bank is saying we need to pay $13,000 to be current or move out... Can we still get modification? I still would like to save my house!!! I feel like they're being unreasonable and impossible so I give up and leave because if I had $13,000 I wouldn't have stopped paying in the first place. I was told I could put my house up for a short sale and hope that will buy me some time while I still try and re negotiate with the bank. I am still able afford to pay 1/3 of my monthly income in mortgage but at this point the mortgage is 60% of my income but I am just getting the run around and no help!
