I am an information technology major with specialization in application development (programming). I find that more jobs require programming language skills. Obviously, you'll want your basic A+, CISCO certifications but in my experience of job hunting I'm discovering computer programming is in higher demand. If you are a programmer you can have "contracted" work and therefore "be your own boss".

This might sound cliche' but try to figure out what you're best at, and what you're happier with. You don't want to get stuck with a major you don't enjoy.
