Getting certified for higher paying jobs question? Ok so my boyfriend was making like $11 an hour at this road crew job and when he got his cdl license they upped his pay to $17 an hour, and the funny thing is he rarely drives on the job and they don't always use big trucks that would require cdls. My question is how can they up the pay that much, and what could a woman do to make that much without having to work in the medical field or something? Any certification classes that are shorter than 6 months or someway to upgrade educational skills to make better money. I was thinking about the cdls as well but I don't know. I have went to college for computers and office stuff, writing, stage design, web design but couldn't finish because of my job. Office jobs good money but right now there aren't many jobs out there, so, I was wondering what kinds of certifications someone could get for a specific subject in a short amount of time. I'm interested in a lot of things, mainly in the creative field and unfortunately those jobs are hard to come by, but I'm just looking for anything that would look good on a resume. I thought about joining a road crew myself but haven't found anyone hiring, they did a bunch of layoffs already this year. |
