Slightly more seriously, I've never seen an outsourced project of any complexity come back a success. tech support and envelope stuffing, fine, but cultural and linguistic issues ensure failure for serious IT work every time.
Not that the CEO's and VP's mind. They've had their bonus checks and golden parachutes long since.
In these coming days of economic tightening, when work actually needs to get done (as opposed to management group-therapy sessions which has been the staple of most US companies for the last decade) I expect to see a lot less outsourcing occuring. |
