Default Stupid questions on job applications?

Okay, so I just spent 45 minutes of my life applying for a job at JCPenny online, and when it came time to finish that awful 50 question long survey, it said:
"Sorry the answers to you questions don't match the position you are applying for. Please try again in 180 days."

WTF!! I've filled out countless questionnaires like these online and they are all so ridiculous, what are you supposed to say?

There's questions like:

Most people annoy me:

A. Strongly Agree
B. Agree
C. Neither Agree or Disagree
D. Disagree
E. Strongly Disagree

Well honestly most people do annoy me, but obviously I'm not gonna say that, but still I don't know what they want to hear, these questions are opinion based. How do they expect everyone to have the same exact opinion?

Do they seriously have a key with all the answers and expect you to pick every single one they want you to?

AHH!! Please help me!

How do I "meet the requirements" on these effing applications?

I hear your pain. The problem is that our biggest corporations and government organizations are run by young MBAs. Those MBAs are best qualified to do the janitorial work. I think the housecleaning staffs would be far more effective in running our largest organizations. They may have some emotional IQ. These questionnaires are contracted out to organizations that claim the questions correlate with on the job performance. (I doubt that they really do).

One of my friends was applying for a government agency management job and he was well liked by all who met him. They wanted to hire him, so they gave him the secret to passing the specific civil service exam for manager. They said "Be mean on the questionnaire. Answer each question as if all you cared about was getting the job done. Show no sympathy for your workers while taking the exam."

I don't know the secret to passing the J.C. Penny online exam, but the fact that they use this type of screening test may be a big clue for you to look elsewhere. A smaller company may not pay as well, but I think that the human aspects of the job are important as well.

I recommend that you answer honestly so that you can self-select yourself out of a miserable job.

Yes, your responses men something. But this is all very subjective, meaning is is not a solid evidence of your skills. They can decide to call you for further evaluation if you fit some profile they are looking for.
